An All-Party Parliamentary Delegation from India, led by senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, met with key American lawmakers and officials to brief them on the recent Pahalgam terror attack and India’s response through Operation Sindoor.
India is not interested in war or conflicts but is focused on growth and development, and Pakistan wants to interrupt this through terrorism, was a message, conveyed by the Indian parliamentary delegation, led by Shashi Tharoor, during its visits to countries in the Americas.
The Indian all-party parliamentary delegation led by Tharoor arrived in the US on Wednesday and met the lawmakers on the same day.
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, who is in the US and part of the multi-party delegation led by Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, mocked the Bilawal Bhutto-led UN delegation, calling it ''a devil preaching peace''.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who is leading an all-party delegation to the US, stressed that there can be no dialogue with Pakistan with "a gun pointed at our head." He warned that the action taken by India now can be taken again if Pakistan does not control terror elements on its soil.
Tharoor dismissed the criticism from Congress leaders, especially from Udit Raj, saying that his critics and trolls are welcome to distort his views, but he has "better things to do."
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Thursday hit back at the ‘zealots’, in an apparent reference to Congress leader Udit Raj and said that his statement on India’s evolving counter-terrorism operation were being distorted and twisted for ‘vested interests’.
Tharoor also highlighted India's strong yet measured and calibrated response to the dastardly Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed, during a statement he made in New York on Saturday.
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla defended Tharoor, accusing the grand old party of hypocrisy.
His latest remarks targeting his Congress colleague came after Tharoor, who is part of the all-party delegation on Operation Sindoor, praised the government’s response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
